                                             INFECTION CONTROL

    The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago rigidly adheres to the strictest standards
    of infection control. Our procedures far exceed accreditation standards set by the
    Centers for Disease Control and The Department of Public Health.

    Unlike hospital-based clinics and CF programs which treat large numbers of patients
    concurrently and often have extended waiting times, The Cystic Fibrosis Center of
    Chicago staggers appointment times so that those with CF are not in the common
    office area at the same time. This strategy has significantly minimized the risk of
    cross infection. In fact, no cases of Burkholderia cepacia have been diagnosed
    since this policy was put into effect!

    All exam rooms and medical devices are disinfected after each patient visit. All staff
    wash their hands before and after each patient visit with an antibacterial soap and/or
    utilize an alcohol based disinfectant.

    With the ever increasing public concern over hospital and community acquired
    infection (such as MRSA), The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is taking the
    lead to find new ways to significantly minimize the risk of infection.

    The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is here to serve you. We feature flexible
    office hours which accommodate your busy schedule. Evening and Saturday
    appointments are available. Dr. Boas also has scheduled office hours at several
    satellite locations to minimize your need to travel. These include Naperville,
    Hoffman Estates, Lake Forest and South Barrington.

    All phone calls received during regular office hours will be returned by the end
    of the day in which they are received. Our regular office hours routinely extend
    beyond 5:00 PM with appointments available as late as 7:30 p.m. and as early
    as 10:00 a.m.

    When medical concerns arise during non-office hours, Dr. Boas is available by
    phone. You will not be referred to another physician to address your after hours
    important medical concerns.
