    The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is the Midwest's premiere center for
    CF care in a private practice setting. As medical outcomes for CF have improved
    over the past 30 years, care has shifted from hospital-based to outpatient focused.
    Despite good intentions, clinics and hospital-based programs lack individualized
    care; our center emphasizes individualized care and fosters patient-physician
    relationships. Additionally, when hospital care is necessary, we are affiliated
    with several multi-specialty accredited medical centers in a wide geographical
    area. This means that patients are directed to the facility that is most appropriate
    for their individual needs and circumstances.

    The hospital system encourages rotation of health care providers and is
    characterized by physician trainees and “on service” or “cross covering”
    doctors who are not familiar with the history of a patient. During a patient’s
    most stressful time – when they are sick and in need of individualized care – the
    physician who primarily cares for them is often not available.

    The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is different, leading the new approach for CF
    care! Over the course of his career, Dr. Boas has cared for over 1000 children and
    young adults with cystic fibrosis. He has taken his vast experience as a CF
    physician since 1989 and his background in a traditional hospital-based clinic
    setting and created a new model of CF care. This model has been presented at
    the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference hosted by The Cystic Fibrosis
    Foundation.

    When all is said and done, it comes down to commitment and professional
    dedication. The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago does not have a rotation of health
    care providers to treat patients. Rather, Dr. Boas oversees and supervises the care
    of each and every patient. The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago offers evening and
    weekend hours and is available 24 hours, 7 days a week for any medical concerns.
