    Assessing Ourselves
    All of us at The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago are extremely proud of the
    treatment programs and the innovations we have put into place. However, taking
    an objective look at our performance compared to national and international standards
    from other CF programs is of paramount importance. To do this, we have developed
    an extensive computer tracking and monitoring system called PATS – PATIENT
    ANALYSIS AND TRACKING SYSTEM. This unique database system has allowed
    for comprehensive tracking and identification of problems before they occur.
    We are very proud that our system has been presented at several national meetings.

                                           ASSESSMENT TOOLS

    Although many assessment tools exist, we have looked at 5 distinct aspects of CF
    care. In these 5 areas, The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago significantly
    outperforms national averages as reported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
    Noted below are the 5 measures used to evaluate our performance.

                                          - Flu vaccination rate
                                          - Diagnostic monitoring
                                          - Nutritional status
                                          - Lung function
                                          - Infection control
